So you're going from working with Andrea Sorrentino on Batman: Imposter and now you're working with Lee, checking off two of the greatest comic artists of all time. Related: Boom!’s Superhero Santa Claus Returns For Omnibus Kickstarter Campaign We got the chance to speak with both Tomlin and Bermejo who shared their excitement for the upcoming original series as well as what fans can expect from this new thriller starring protagonist Shawn Thacker, an assassin from the future cursed with involuntarily jumping throughout time whenever he or his similarly afflicted rival kill. Now, Tomlin is working with artist Lee Bermejo on A Vicious Circle, known for iconic DC epics such as Batman: Damned and Joker. However, Tomlin previously wrote DC's Batman: Imposter in collaboration with artist Andrea Sorrentino. The three-issue original series comes from screenwriter/director Mattson Tomlin, known for his work on Netflix's Project Power, Hulu's Mother/Android, and is also co-writing the upcoming sequel to Matt Reeve's The Batman. Featuring a wide range of art styles, A Vicious Circle promises high-octane action injected with intimate personal stakes. Focused on two rivals sent from a distant future, A Vicious Circle is a timeline-hopping conflict with the fate of the world hanging in the balance. I was literally in the same boat as you, constantly getting my ass handed to me by stagger because someone feels like cheesing their way to victory, but I started playing the game again after i heard rumors of a fifth style coming out soon, although the rumors weren't true (yet), I was excited to see how much the community had been heard compared to some other game developers, and now I genuinely enjoy the game as if I was playing it on day one (albeit the feels way more balanced now than I remember).Boom! Studios is kicking off an epic time-travel thriller entitled A Vicious Circle, and we got the chance to speak with the creators about the upcoming miniseries. it just ruined the credibility of the game for me. I wish it would have been a bigger hit, and I absolutely LOVE the game-play, art and style but Stagger. I just logged back on to see if anybody still played this game 45 sounds about right. I resolved to quit on any opponent that had the same ol' nonsense Stagger moves (Grab, Rollback, WWDP, etc.), but that resulted in me quitting EVERY match so I stopped playing. But eventually the meta Stagger BS became too much to tolerate it was repetitive and ridiculous. I initially loved the game I bought 3 copies to get my brothers to play online with me. Well, for what its worth, I quit playing because of Stagger. The game feels like real sparring, fights are fun to watch, and from what it seems, deck advantage for choosing stagger is not a thing anymore. If you want to hit harder, moves that hit harder take longer to wind up, so you have set up the longer range hit by creating the appropriate combat distance, or using class ability to slip a heavier attack in after a whiffed attack.Īll of this is fantastic. A boxer can get in and in-fight, now, keeping an opponent locked down with a jab and uppercut, and win with basic punches and timing. Because of the increased damage on short moves, this is a viable way to fight. ![]() There's also a style of play that many people hate (because it's based on fast interrupt), but what this causes for people that know how to use it (and aren't just using jab-hook or jab-jab without a follow up or plan) is true in-fighting, where there's a short range exchange and sticking to the opponent to prevent any heavy attacks. I've seen tons of different decks, with little to no exact repetition. The increased damage on realistic moves not only makes them more viable, but I'm finally seeing curled up uppercut knockouts happening 10x more than the WWDP "death by light slap," and that's very satisfying to see. ![]() You can't just run in and spam a bunch of fast stuff, because risking taking hits isn't a thing, anymore. Since this patch, fights feel a lot more realistic. ![]()
